Growing up with an elder brother, got me to learn various things at an early age. I remember sitting with him in our study room, a few years back conversing about stock markets. Everyday holding my excitement, I used to track his portfolio movements and got curious about the price actions. The curiosity further piqued in college.
As an economics student, I spent a lot of time in researching, analysing fiscal and monetary trends in college. Although exposed to research, I wasn’t sure if I want to pursue Economics full time. Just then Niveshaay (SEBI Registered Investment Advisory Firm) happened. Since, then it has been an upward learning curve and this phenomenal journey would not have been possible without the guiding force and my mentor Mr. Arvind Kothari. I am fortunate to have learnt a lot and imbibed those analytical skills from him. Soon in my career, I understood that this profession keeps you engrossed and gives you chance to discover new things everyday. Further, it allows you to stay current and informed and do meaningful and diverse work while allowing you to constantly grow and learn. Soon I knew what I wanted to do.
Since the time, I started to learn investing (2016) till date, the SENSEX almost reached the same level (during the COVID times). This made me experience market cyclicity. The first cycle was very interesting and filled with numerous learnings from basics of stock market to intensive research in understanding some great industries from aluminum, paper, graphite to hotels and a lot in between. I am very grateful that at a very early stage in my career, I got an opportunity to research on some great businesses which taught me to analyze them from various perspectives. They came with great lessons and good returns, an added advantage on some of them.
During the course, I met some amazing people and learnt intricacies of building a business. However, the biggest learning in the last few years for me has been my own discovery. Doing and exploring new things made me recognise what I am good at, What I need to improve and What I love doing.
Also, writing helped me map my thoughts and ideas effectively. So here I am, sharing my perspective on companies, economics, sectors and other aspects related to market. I truly believe India is a volume based growth story where penetration of many products is still very low compared to the world average.
This is a sneak peek of my story. I wish to discuss a lot more and would continue sharing through my posts and updates in this frenzy yet charming financial market. Keep checking!
